Grand
Coulee Dam is located approximately 90 miles west of Spokane,
WA. The work on the Pump
/ Generating Plant included the removal of an existing power transformer
and the installation of a new transformer, as well as modifications
to the existing 230kV SF6 gas bus serving the old transformer.
All the work was completed on time and within budget.
The following
are a few words from a letter of appreciation received from
George Marrs, Resident Construction Engineer: “On behalf
of the Bureau of Reclamation, I would like to commend you and your
staff for the excellent work performed …” “Both
contracts were completed timely and in a highly professional manner
by both your office and field staff.”
These projects consisted of
furnishing and installing a 175 MVA, 230kV three-phase power transformer

and field-testing. It also involved replacing concrete foundations
and an oil containment system for the new transformer, constructing
concrete foundations for roof-mounted steel bus structures and

for overhead rigid bus and Isolated phase bus, installing new transformer
deluge fire suppression system, installing new sanitary and deck
drainage piping, removing and disposing of the existing 230kV transformer
and modifying SF-6 switchgear and Isolated phase bus. |
